Homemade eggnog can be labor intensive if you crave the satisfaction of making it from scratch-delicious for sure, but a process some may wish to skip. Below is an easy alternative to lessen the load of holiday hosts. 1 gallon vanilla ice cream
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste
Bourbon (or Rum)

Directions

Melt 1 gallon vanilla ice cream in pitcher
add Nutmeg and mix
add Bourbon, as much as you like! Mix some more,
chill or not, it’s up to you
yield: at least 16 8 oz. servings and many merry guests!

Of course if you have the time, and the inclination, you can opt to follow the from scratch recipe link I’m passing along below, a great one from Spendwithpennies.com.  Regardless of which one you choose, you and your guests’  Eggnog fix will be covered . Merry Christmas!
