I don't use recipes when I cook and dont have the patience to record them, but when I come across one that closely resembles how I usually cook a favorite dish I like to save it and pass it along.  My only qualm with this one is the use of basil in chili, as well as not using Mexican oregano.  The latter is understood, it's hard to find in much of the country but makes a difference. My husband and I love good chili in the fall and winter that is easy to make on short notice. This recipe is not too “hot” for your taste buds but can be manipulated for those who want more of a “punch”. I also use the leftover chili to make my Tex-Mex Chili Cheese enchiladas (posted on justapinch.com)
